The five biggest cricket trips of 2027 on our route are the New Year's Test in Sydney (4 to 8 January), the 150th Anniversary Test in Melbourne (11 to 15 March), the World Test Championship Final at The Oval (9 to 13 June), and the Ashes Tests at Lord's (30 June to 4 July) and The Oval (29 July to 2 August). All five dates are official. London has the most cricket and needs the most planning, because ticket windows close in late 2026. The calendar below runs in date order and gives the status of each date. It covers the cities on our own route only, so Ashes Tests and other matches elsewhere in England are left out.
Official means the governing body or the ground has published the date, and the table names which one. Not yet published means no dates exist, so we give none. Fixtures at any ground can still change, so check the source before you pay for anything that cannot be cancelled.

The Boxing Day Test and the Adelaide Test of December 2026 are 2026 events. Cricket Australia's schedule has the Adelaide Test on 17 to 21 December 2026 and the Boxing Day Test on 26 to 30 December 2026, both against New Zealand. The Sydney Test that finishes that series is the first cricket on this list, in January 2027.
The Hundred has no 2027 window yet. The ECB's Ashes finish on 2 August and England's New Zealand matches start in September, so August is the natural gap, but that is our inference from the calendar. The competition says fixtures are due in early 2027 and that its mailing list gets priority for tickets. Do not book a hotel for it yet.
The December 2027 Tests have no published dates or venues. The MCG holds the Boxing Day Test under an agreement that runs through 2030-31, but whether Pakistan play there in December 2027 is unconfirmed. We found no Adelaide Test confirmed in calendar 2027.
The men's ODI World Cup, 2 October to 21 November 2027 in Southern Africa, is off our route, which leaves the WTC Final as the only ICC event in this calendar.
• The Oval Ashes Test: the Kia Oval ticket ballot closes on Sunday 15 November 2026, with results on Monday 23 November 2026. The ECB ticket page says general sale opens in December 2026, without giving a day.
• Lord's 2027 matches: the public ballot ran from 2 September to 26 October 2026. First-round winners are told in early November and can buy from Tuesday 17 November 2026. General sale is Thursday 10 December 2026, per Lord's.
• WTC Final: we found no ticket sale for it. It is outside the Kia Oval ballot.
• 150th Anniversary Test: the ballot closed in February 2026 and the MCG lists Days 2 to 4 as on sale. Day 5 tickets go on sale at the end of Day 4.
• New Year's Test: sold through Ticketmaster from the SCG's event page.
• England v New Zealand at Bristol: the ECB ticket page listed this ODI as on sale in October 2026.
If you are reading this after one of those dates has passed, check the ground's own ticket page for what remains. Each match guide has the detail.

For a first Test match, the England v Bangladesh Test at Lord's is the easy entry. ianVisits reported 2027 adult prices of £25 to £80 (≈ $33–107), Lord's set a ballot limit of 10 tickets per day, and we expect it to be the less contested of the two Lord's Tests in 2027. Lord's general sale on 10 December 2026 covers it too.
For the biggest occasion, the 150th Anniversary Test is a single match that will not come round again, and Cricket Australia said more than half of the tickets sold by March 2026 went to buyers from outside Victoria. Both Ashes Tests carry more ticket competition but give you all the rest of London in summer.
If you are seeing matches at both London grounds, Waterloo is a neat single base, with the Jubilee line to St John's Wood and the Northern line to Oval. Our where to stay in London guide compares the areas for a normal trip.
The two London Tests are official: Lord's on 30 June to 4 July and The Oval on 29 July to 2 August 2027, according to the ECB. The series has five Tests; the other three are outside London and off our route.
The next Boxing Day Test is 26 to 30 December 2026 against New Zealand, which is a 2026 event. Dates and venues for the December 2027 Tests are not yet published.
Not yet published. The 2026 season ran 21 July to 16 August, and the competition says 2027 fixtures are due in early 2027.
At The Oval in London from Wednesday 9 to Sunday 13 June 2027, according to the ICC and ECB.
