Choose your ground before your hotel: London's stadiums are too spread out for one base to suit them all. For Arsenal, stay around Finsbury Park, Highbury and Islington or King's Cross. For Tottenham, stay near Liverpool Street for the Overground to White Hart Lane. For Chelsea and Fulham, stay on the District line. The big fixture is Arsenal v Tottenham, listed by the Premier League for Saturday 1 May 2027, though TV can move any date. The harder job is getting a ticket, because Arsenal and Tottenham sell largely to members. We were in London from 14 to 21 November 2023 and from 2 to 3 December 2023.
Six London clubs are in the 2026/27 Premier League: Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Brentford. West Ham were relegated in May 2026, so older guides that send you to their stadium for a Premier League match are out of date.
We cover five grounds. We have no checked transit facts for Crystal Palace's Selhurst Park, so it is left out. Arsenal and Tottenham details come from those clubs. Chelsea, Fulham and Brentford details come from one third-party stadium guide, because we could not read their own travel pages, so confirm them with the club.

These dates are announced by the Premier League and all are subject to change. Most are nominal Saturdays, and TV often moves matches to a Sunday, a Monday or an evening. Do not book a non-refundable flight on one of these dates.

Arsenal. Members buy through ballots and the club's Ticket Exchange. Arsenal says there are no fees on Exchange or Transfer, and that A, B and C prices are flat for 2026/27, with new B+ and A+ categories added.
Tottenham. One Hotspur membership starts from £45 (≈ $60) for adults and One Hotspur+ from £55 (≈ $74), as listed by the club in October 2026. Sales go to One Hotspur+ first, then One Hotspur, and the club expects league games not to reach guest or general sale.
Chelsea, Fulham and Brentford. We could not verify how each sells tickets, so start on the club's own site.
The realistic route for a tourist is a smaller club, a cup match, or a club-authorised hospitality package. SportBible reported in 2026 that hospitality for the big six starts upwards of £1,000 (≈ $1,339).
The law: under section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, it is an offence for an unauthorised person to sell a ticket for a designated football match, and tickets resold outside club channels can be cancelled.

Arsenal's travel page gives these stations. Arsenal (Piccadilly line) is nearest, around 3 minutes' walk, but has no step-free access from the platforms to the exit. Finsbury Park (Victoria, Piccadilly and Great Northern) is around 10 minutes on foot and should be less crowded. Highbury & Islington (Victoria, Mildmay and Great Northern) is also around 10 minutes on foot.
Avoid two stations. Arsenal says Holloway Road is exit-only before matches, with eastbound trains not stopping, and closed for up to 2 hours after the match. Drayton Park is closed on matchdays.
Where to stay, ranked by time to the ground (our judgement). Train times are our rough estimates, so check a journey planner.
1. Finsbury Park. Around 10 minutes on foot. The catch: few reasons to stay beyond the football.
2. Highbury and Islington. Around 10 minutes on foot, and the better area for food and evenings. The catch: Victoria line crowds after the match.
3. King's Cross. Roughly 10 to 15 minutes on the Piccadilly line plus the walk, and the most central of the three. It also suits a train arrival. The catch: the Arsenal station queue after the match.
Tottenham's page lists four stations: White Hart Lane, Northumberland Park, Tottenham Hale and Seven Sisters. White Hart Lane is the closest, about 5 minutes on foot. For it, the club says to board the Overground at Liverpool Street. Northumberland Park is on Greater Anglia services from Liverpool Street, a 10 to 15 minute walk and often quieter.
The Premier League's stadium guide gives around 20 minutes from Liverpool Street. It is an older page, so confirm that in a journey planner.
Seven Sisters and Tottenham Hale are on the Victoria line, and the club says to take a bus or walk from there. Published walking times vary widely, from about 15 to 35 minutes, and Seven Sisters usually has a pedestrian diversion when changing to the Overground.
Shuttle buses run from Alexandra Palace and Wood Green. They are free but must be booked in advance, run from three hours before kick-off to two hours after the match, and the club advises against catching one less than 50 minutes before kick-off. The Tottenham Hale premium shuttle no longer runs. From west London, the club suggests the Piccadilly line to Wood Green and the shuttle.
Where to stay, ranked by time to the ground (our judgement). 1. Liverpool Street, the City and Shoreditch. Around 20 minutes by train from Liverpool Street, plus the 5-minute walk. The catch: the City is quiet at weekends, so Shoreditch suits evenings better. 2. King's Cross. The Victoria line reaches Seven Sisters and Tottenham Hale, then you need a bus or a long walk. The catch: a longer, less direct trip. 3. Paddington. The club's route is the Elizabeth line to Liverpool Street, then the Overground. The catch: one change, on the busiest route.

These facts come from the stadium guide On Tour Football. Check each club's page, and treat the area suggestions as our judgement.
Chelsea, Stamford Bridge. Fulham Broadway (District line) is a 2-minute walk from the turnstiles, and West Brompton and Imperial Wharf are short walks if it is busy. There is no matchday parking around the ground.
Fulham, Craven Cottage. Putney Bridge (District line) is the nearest Tube, a 10 to 15 minute walk through Bishops Park along the Thames. Hammersmith is a slightly longer walk. There is almost no matchday parking.
Brentford, Gtech Community Stadium. Kew Bridge station is a few minutes' walk, with Brentford, Gunnersbury and South Ealing not much further. There is effectively no matchday parking. We have no reliable journey times, so we are not ranking areas for this ground.
For Chelsea and Fulham, both grounds use the same branch of the District line, so a base on that line, such as Earl's Court, suits either. Check the journey in a planner.
• Evening games. Midweek matches can miss last trains from outer stations, so check the return before you book a base further out.
• Hold the booking loosely. Use free cancellation until the final date and kick-off are confirmed.
• Longer trips. Our where to stay in London guide compares the centre, and how many days in London plans the rest of the trip.
• Wembley. The FA Cup final guide covers Wembley's May finals, including the easier-to-reach Women's FA Cup final.
The Premier League lists Arsenal v Tottenham for Saturday 1 May 2027. All fixtures are subject to change, and TV can move the match to another day or time.
Finsbury Park or Highbury and Islington, each around 10 minutes on foot from Emirates Stadium. King's Cross is the most central option, roughly 10 to 15 minutes on the Piccadilly line plus the walk.
Around Liverpool Street, the City or Shoreditch. Tottenham says to board the Overground at Liverpool Street for White Hart Lane, about 5 minutes on foot from the stadium.
It is hard at the biggest clubs. Arsenal sells to members through ballots and its Ticket Exchange, and Tottenham expects league games not to reach general sale. The realistic routes are a smaller club, a cup match or a club-authorised hospitality package.
No. West Ham were relegated in May 2026 and are not in the 2026/27 Premier League.
